The Association of Special Educators and Rehabilitators of North Macedonia is part of the Erasmus + project "Inclusion-Friendly Classroom: The ICF as a Problem-Solving Tool for the Team Around the Child in Educational Settings“ (Include with ICF) which gives teachers and inclusive teams in education and parents the opportunity to use the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). The use of ICF helps teachers, parents and students to focus on the abilities, goals of participation and full inclusion of children with developmental disabilities through the use of a common language.
PROJECT RESULTS
- ICF- Inclusion checklist (O1) - allows teachers and parents to describe and assess the participation of students with developmental disabilities. It allows focusing on abilities and what the child CAN achieve. It facilitates the assessment of the necessary support of the child and enables the common definition of the GOALS OF PARTICIPATION.
- Participation Goal Incubator (O2) - is a tool to support teachers in co-defining important participation goals (with parents and / or students), while providing information and resources with more than 70 examples of goals for participation. This tool allows teachers to learn how other professionals have created goals for participation and have the opportunity to transfer these examples into their daily work. The resource set is directly related to the ICF- checklist and supports teachers to create their own goals for their students.
- Teachers teamwork toolkit (O3) - The Teacher teamwork toolkit supports teachers to learn and decide on useful teamwork methodologies for working with children with developmental disabilities and their parents. The package consists of methodological guide and examples of best practice for teamwork in educational conditions (school, kindergarten). It also contains skills-oriented information for teachers to acquire relevant skills for different approaches to team teaching and their implementation in school or kindergarten.
The goals provide practical guidance for professionals in school, kindergarten and other educational institutions (e.g. early childhood intervention).
All tools are free and support the individual educational plans for children (0-18 years) with developmental disabilities.
The project is funded by the European Union and the National Agency for European Educational Programs and Mobility.
The duration of the project is from February 2022 to January 2024.
